thanks for the update. after being on the snapstream.net beta program, and seeing recent screenshots of what itss going to look like, i'm majorly psyched to get my hands on the latest and greatest.

Sounds like a plan with the monthly updates, and I'll look forward to testing this on Friday.

oh dear

Yes Quartz (mutter tech release pre-beta) will be released as promised (well not quite..) pay no attention to the Marketers behind the Curtain...

look into my beady eyes.. yes you are getting sleeeeepy, you will be under my control as I snap fingers "SNAP!" so! You will now believe my every word... Snapstream Quartz IS actually a product, repeat after me, Quartz IS a product... You will forget any promises that have been made by SnapStream, they were simply a figment of your imagination... SnapStream is your friend...

I think SnapStream management should try and get hold of one of those neuralizers from MiB - it'd certain ease my pain!

Just letting you guys know that Snapstream didn't whelch on any promises this time. The post said the Week of the 22nd. So Friday (even Saturday if they need it) will be keeping their promise. Now come Sunday Morning at 12:01am I'm sure if they don't deliver we will see lots of posts about broken promises.

Sorry, but they did.

If you want to play the "semantics" game with "Week of the 22nd" - Fine, I'll let you get away with that one.

But they snuck in this Tech Preview concept. Their commitment was to deliver Beta 1 in the week of the 22nd. Instead, they're going to deliver the Tech Preview - with Beta 1 following as much as a month away.

They've taken so much heat for pushing out timelines and have got the message that that's no longer acceptable. So, some bright spark obviously said: Hey, why don't we just deliver less?

Bravo!

This is an excellent policy. I like the frequent update policy rather than once a year update plans.

Let's just hope bug fixes are part of this policy. I think the ATI fix should have been integrated into the exe by now. But since quartz is finally coming I guess it would be a waste.

On Bugfixes:
Yes, bugfixes are an integral part of this release idea- we will do our best to make sure that any bug that is found is fixed that month- the flip side to this is that you guys have to tell us about every bug you find. We would rather have 500 bug reports telling us about the same bug than miss hearing about a single bug. So... if there's something you don't like- the color, the mouse behaviour, the order of items in a menu, let us know so that we can fix it.

To strigby:
Yes, we refused to miss the release date.
No, what we're putting out tomorrow is not less - it's just renamed so as not to confuse users who haven't been following the groups.

-- confuse people who don't follow groups, bad. confuse people who DO follow groups, good. haha i'm sorry, couldn't pass that one up. i'm camped out in front of my computer awaiting the new snapstream, lawn chair, caffienated beverage, and several cans of patience.
