So you want a Hi Def PVR.....

I've made a limited version of my Hi Def PVR available for many reasons but mostly to thumb my nose at TitanTV. (They didn't consider me worthy of partnership.)

Lots of people have done lots of work that made it possible for me to have the kind of video recorder system I wanted. Thank you all!

I have not included the recorders for the ATSC tuners or the recorders for the analog tuners to keep it simple and non-competitive with BTV.

I have not included any information on how to configure it to use any advanced features for the same reasons.

The included version of HE Remote will work for 30 days. If BTV doesn't have a FireWire system by then you'll need to get the standard version.

I've assumed that you have a Hauppauge 45 button remote. If not, you're on your own.
I've assumed that you have one DCT 6200 with active FireWire and that the drivers are installed. If not, you're on your own.
You will need to install the DVBPortal HDTV TS Pump filter. I've included the hdtvpump-1.0.5.zip file from http://www.dvbportal.de (I hope they don't mind.)
The NVIDIA TS Info Parser filter is used to preview TV in the DVR 1.exe settings page. It isn't required.

Step 1: Unzip the contents of TVScheduler.zip into the C:\Program Files\TV Scheduler folder.
Step 2: Open an account at http://labs.zap2it.com using this certificate code TIYN-TUMC-BUTV (skip this step if you have an account)
Step 3: Open the 'Zap2itData.ini' file in notepad.
Step 4: Enter you username and password in the 'Zap2itData.ini' file.
Step 5: Save and close the 'Zap2itData.ini' file.
Step 6: Double click the 'get listings.bat' file.
Step 7: Double click the 'HE Remote.exe' file so this version registers itself.
Step 8: Double click the 'DVR 1.exe' file so this version registers itself and close it.
Step 9: Double click the 'register WinTVCapWriter.bat' file.
Step 10: Double click the 'register WinTVCapReader.bat' file.
Step 11: Double click the 'Shortcut to Irremote.ini' file, save that file as a backup and close it.
Step 12: Double click the 'Irremote.ini' file, save that file as 'C:\Windows\Irremote.ini' and close it.
Step 13: Restart IR.
Step 14: Open the 'TV Scheduler.ini' in notepad.
Step 15: Remove all folders that have files that you do not want deleted from the line that starts with "#DeleteVideosFolders"
Step 16: Remove the '#" from the beginning of that line so it starts with "DeleteVideosFolders = "
Step 17: If the 'get listings.bat' is still running then wait for it to close.
Step 18: Open the 'Zap2itData.ini' file in notepad.
Step 19: Edit the "DownloadDays = 1" line so it reads 'DownloadDays = 8'.
Step 20: Save and close the 'Zap2itData.ini' file.
Step 21: Double click the 'get listings.bat' file.
Step 22: Double click the 'TVS.exe' file.

Re: So you want a Hi Def PVR.....

TV Scheduler,

I read all of these instructions. No offense, but what do you have after all these steps? I have both a 6200 and a BTV system, so this got my attention.

Regards,

MJC
