Minimum Laptop Requirements

I was thinking about turning an old Thinkpad into a PVR with the Diamond usb2.0 decoder and beyond tv3. The thinkpad has a clean install of XP Pro, 600Mhz P3, and USB 2.0. Do you think this would work fine?

If you are only going to be recording with it, maybe. But I don’t see any way it would be able to handle the full screen interface.

Yea. I want to be able to record TV. With hardware decoding off the board, why is the processor a bottleneck? What's the recommended hardware solution? I've hear dbad things about the adaptec VideoOh and I've always liked diamond, though nothing on the diamond explicitly mentions laptops...

I just noticed that a card in the "incompatible" list is very similar to my card. I have an s3 SavageIX and they mention the IXB+ as incompatible...
