Re: Something other than Girder?

If you are using MYBlaster or the IR-200L then you can use the MyIR app:
http://mytvstore.com/snapstream.html

HERemote:

... support for HERemote has been discontinued. You can still download the app, pay $20 via paypal, and get a key.

Re: Something other than Girder?

Just curious what other apps are out there for this sort of thing. I want to control BTV, Zoom Player, and other apps without a big learning curve.

Re: Something other than Girder?

Girder can appear to be very daunting and rightfully so. It is a very complex tool that provides amazing control. I suggest you read the little tutorial that they have online at the girder site. It will open your eyes to the way the app works and give you an idea on how to get started with it. The huge bonus with girder is that most of the work has already been completed by other users so all you need to do is import the gml's and program your remote codes.

Re: Something other than Girder?

The problem is Im having difficulty setting up, lets say the pause button to do multiple apps, ie BTV and zoomplayer. Can't seem to get a grasp on that.

Re: Something other than Girder?

I have this set up currently. I can post my gml later tonight or tomorrow to show you how I am doing it. It was just pieced together from the work that others have already done.

OK, here is the gml. Just remove the .txt. It should be kinda self explanitory so go ahead and take a look and let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks!!!! Now what's thr trick in getting to learn which program is active. I use Zoom Player instead of WinDVD. There is a "who is focused" section, then there's "enable group" options. Is it a 2 part step? Thanks for the help with this.

Re: Something other than Girder?

I am having the exact same issues as a girder newbie. I can add a command and get the "learn command" to work--but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to tell girder whicg program the command is associated with.

I have been successful in using downloaded gml's to control Windows Media Player and BTV--but can't find a BM gml (I asked someone to post one on the firefly board). I have added a new group for BM--and set the commands up, but I have never "told" girder that these commands are for BM. If someone can help me with this, I will be happy to post a very basic BM gml file once I have it working.

Re: Something other than Girder?

I got it working to some degree but for instance, using it with beyond tv would send some commands twice, some not at all and some intermittently. I tried posting in the Girder forums http://www.promixis.com/phpBB2/viewt...145&highlight=
But received no response. I also tried emailing gsupport@promixis.com and also received no response. I was wanting to use my Harmony remote via UIRT http://www.usbuirt.com/ to control Beyond TV. Unfortunately Girder does not seem interested in providing support. I am using a Firefly to control the computer and the Harmony to control the TV, Stereo etc as a result.
