Cool Cool addon!

On ebay, I just got this box that will rebroadcast video to ANY UHF/VHF station, and also on coax. I set up my ATI card to switch displays on a hotkey that i programmed to one of the buttons on my ATI remote. I can then take a little portable TV and go within about 500 feet completely wirelessly. This is great especially in an environment like a dorm room. I ended up putting velcro on all the stalls in our bathroom . Works like a charm.

Re: Cool addon!

It looks great... The only problem I see is that my HTTP server's vid card only has S-Video out. and it is already directly connected to a nearby TV. How could I use this for remote houshold BTV viewing, and still have my HTPC directly conected via S-Cable to my TV?

Heres what I would do if you did want this:

OPTION 1:
SVID -> Re-broadcaster -> Coax
This will rebroadcast on a specific channel all over your house. I havent tried it, for coax yet, but i know it has that feature. You can switch from rebroad to UHF or rebroad to coax.

OPTION 2:
Get an SVID splitter. Then you can rebroad wirelessly or wired.

ps if you have any more questions, feel free to email or post

Oh just use an old VCR to convert the data stream to RF over a coax.

Now a Transmitter would be fun but the FCC might not be too happy about it.

I dont know how it works, i dont use it for that, i just use it for UHF. Is the legality of this in question? I had no idea. I figured since it is for personal use, and it is on a vacant channel, its fine (plus its only within my room).

Re: Cool addon!

I posted what I later found to be an erronious message. I couldn't delete it, so I just edited it to be nothing, but the forums app said it had to be 5 chars. minimum. It was all I could think to do...
