Re: How many TV tuner cards are in your Beyond TV setup?

I have 2, but I think I may upgrade to 3 before the availability of pvr250's goes away. There are just a few times that I miss one show.

Re: How many TV tuner cards are in your Beyond TV setup?

I have one card with two tuners (voted 2). PVR-500MCE

I have my old PVR-250 card sitting in the box. My shuttle doesn't have more slots. I am thinking of moving all the card to the media server and switch to using BTVLink on the htpc. This would then include 4 tuners because it will also include an ATI AIW-7000 for web streaming.

Re: How many TV tuner cards are in your Beyond TV setup?

I have 2 250's in my machine right now. I have a software tunner available and waiting to go as soon as I can dedicate it to TV web streaming only. Or I will pop in another 250 as soon as BTV supports 2 USB-UIRTs.

I too, have a shuttle PC case that only comes with one PCI slot. I have a WinTV PVR250 in the slot currently. I tried upgrading to the Win TV PVR500 (dual tuner) card but had hardware problems, possibly the power supply. After returning it, I just ordered a WinTV USB2 external capture device for my second tuner. Everything that I have read on SS's forums says it will work fine (and it has hardware MPEG2 encoding).

Just a thought on how to upgrade your shuttle PC box to dual tuners for less money.

Re: How many TV tuner cards are in your Beyond TV setup?

I have 2. I am one of those running a software and hardware setup. I have a PVR 150 as my primary and an ATI TV Wonder PCI as my secondary.

My vid card is a radeon 9700 pro, using the tv out to tv for watching.

So it can be done.

I can;t wait to ditch the TV Wonder for another PVR 150 though.

Re: How many TV tuner cards are in your Beyond TV setup?

Can't get the first tuner (9800 Pro AIW) with BTV 3-5-2 to work with the current ATI drivers. Both work with the ATI software....

Re: How many TV tuner cards are in your Beyond TV setup?

Well, I only have one TV Tuner per PC, which both PCs are networked together by 10/100 Ethernet. This PC has a Hauppauge WinTV PVR-150, and the one downstairs has an ATI TV Wonder Pro, both of which have BTV installed. That actually makes it easy since we can share, burn, watch, and make each others' recorded TV shows portable on my Dell Axim X30. That's nice to have the whole family using their Media Center suites effectively and having them take their TV shows, music, pictures, and other videos with them, have them on the network to share between both PCs. I find it better having two different PCs having separate tuners than having two tuners in one PC, especially since my PC probably can't handle any more TV tuners (this is Gateway's ATX model, the BTX is much bigger, roomier, and can handle more, I should've thought better about that, so that I could've had that state-of-the-art media center,oh well, what're you gonna do about that?).
