Tech support

How does one get higher or better support. I have not had a reply for 10 days now on the e-mail support and am getting frustated over how to make this thing work properly with out a jerky picture playback on a MVP. I never know if it will record a good show or not. Almost ready to go back to vcr. I have been fighting this for a month or so now.

Do you have a jerky picture playback on BTV, or is it just on the MVP ? If it is just on the MVP, you might want to try hauppauge support or shspvr.com

Re: Tech support

If it does it on the MVP it will play back jerky on the computor screen also. That is why I think it is a record problem. I also have 2 of the MVP and it will be the same on both of them.

Re: Tech support

That makes sense. Is it all recordings, or just specific recordings ? Are you using the ATA AIW for recording, or just the 250s ? What recording settings are you using ?

Re: Tech support

The recordings are eractic. It may do it with a single recording or it may do it with multiple recordings. I have found no pattern that I can say is taking place.
I have been using the default encoder. But I seen somewhere it said something about using the snapstream basic and I just switched it this mourning. I am hoping that this may make a difference. I also questioned tech support about the cards I am using as they are different date and rev codes on them and they were all purchased within 2-3 weeks of each other.
Card # 1 28552 Rev C158 NTSC/NTSC-J On tuner cover

Card # 2 28552 Rev C158 NTSC/NTSC-J On tuner cover

Card # 3 28552 Rev B123 NTSC/NTSC-J On tuner cover

Card # 4 28552 Rev B123 NTSC/NTSC-J On tuner cover

Card 1 & 2 280000-03B-2004 Imprinted on board

Card 3 & 4 280000-02-2003 Imprinted on board
I am wondering if there is incompatability with these cards
Thanks
Wayne

Re: Tech support

That might be a question better answered on shspvr.com. They have a ton of experienced hauppauge users in that forum. The encoder setting does make a difference for me - I also chaged it from default to ss basic.

You might also want to run a few tests to see if the problem is being caused by specific tuners.
