USB external storage that are Media Players

Don't know if these have been discussed but did a quick search and didn't find anything. These could fit in the big picture for storage/playback. I am thinking about using for portability, playback in car/RV/boat.

But could be used as a stand alone player in another room if hooked up to network device like this:

A bit pricey but this project for me has become past the hobby stage and become a daily tool.

Re: USB external storage that are Media Players

I am not sure how well it will work, I have a USB 2.0 drive and I can record to it just fine but when I playback it stutters real bad to the point it is unusable, I may not have something setup quit right but I don't have this problem with my IDE drives.

If anyone here has had any success in getting this to work, or had this problem please let me know how to fix it.

Tim

There must be something wrong with your system. USB 2.0 drives are not an issue.

You might also consider something like an Ximeta NetDisk. It's either 100Mbit ethernet or USB 2.0. I have (2) ethernet drives and they work great.
