CableCard and BTV
My TV has CableCard functionality. Is there anyway to use the CableCard to get HDTV channels, but send the rest of the channels to BTV for recording and the use of the on-screen guide? I believe my TV has an S-video out but I've never used it. Do the PVR-150 cards support hardware encoding for S-video inputs or does it have to be coax? Thanks.

Re: CableCard and BTV
Can anyone offer advice? I'm thinking that I'll get two PVR-150s. I'll use the cablecard for HDTV and watching TV while using the PVR-150s to record up to two programs at a time. One of the PVR-150s will be fed by regular analog cable (split from the original coax line). The other PVR-150 will be fed by a digital cable box (DCT-2244 so I can use serial port for channel changing). Also, with this setup, my Picture in Picture will work and include digital cable channels (one input from BTV and the other from the cablecard).
Does anyone have any advice on this? Will this work? Is there anything I should be aware of before building using this setup? Thanks!! |
