Do I feel stupid!

Man, do I feel stupid. I set up BTV throughout our entire house, lock stock and barrel. Spent $100's of dollars buying 2 PVR 250's, new radeon card, hard drive, modulator, the works.

I have spent many many many hours trying to get my screen to fit just perfectly on the TV's. Overscan, way to big, normal I have about 5 CM cut out of the bottom of the screen, drove me crazy for weeks. I even tried Powerstrip.

I even tried the adjust screen in BTV a long time ago, but I thought it just MOVED the screen, not made it smaller. I never actually hit the OK button like the instructions said, so I thought it was useless.

Anyway, read a post talking more in depth about the screen adjustment so I thought I'd try 1 more time. Well, wouldn't you know that if I had just hit the OK button after setting up the top left corner, it then moved to the bottom right corner. I almost fell over as I screamed "It worked!" and my wife came running to see what the heck I was talking about. LOL.

Anyway, bought BTV over a year ago and now I can watch it on my entire screen. Thanks to this forum as it has been invaluable.

I feel like such a newb!

Re: Do I feel stupid!

You're not the only one. I also tried the display adjustment several times before I realized that you needed to select ok. It is completely inconsistant with the other setup screens where you just esacpe to save the settings, but it probably has to be that way because you are setting two different settings

Re: Do I feel stupid!

Well that's damn interesting. I suppose we could change that text to be a little more clear.

Re: Do I feel stupid!

Once you read it, I think that the text is clear. It is just different than the rest of the settings screens in the FSI.

Re: Do I feel stupid!

Very funny! And proves the point of how difficult it can be to create a consistent and easy interface.

I love that adjustment. I'd love to have the ability to save a number of overlay settings: One for each TV in my house.
As it is now, I use an "average" setting that works for all TVs, but is perfect on none.
