Cornea TFT/LCD w/TV Tuner Card

I want to purchase Snapstream and am presently researching the best TV Tuner card to purchase. While browsing, I found the Cornea LCD w/TV Tuner Card (I'm also looking for a flat screen monitor). Is this compatible with Snapstream? If I decide to purchase a USB card will I be able to record shows acceptable for viewing on my HP 568? I've cracked the CPU case of my HP to up the ram to 512mb without any problem, but I'd rather not if I don't have to. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

I'm not familiar with the product that you mention, but I'm going to make a guess. Based upon the description you provided, it sounds like the monitor might have it's own built-in TV tuner. In other words, you can flip a switch and your monitor doubles as a standard television.

Again, I may be completely incorrect. But if I am correct, you do not want that product. You need a tuner that is going to pass the signals through your PC.

Hauppauge makes a USB tuner card that would meet your criteria of not having to open the box. SnapStream sells a hardware/software bundle that includes this Hauppauge card. If you're looking for the most fool-proof setup, that would get my personal recommendation. You don't see nearly as many technical issues from Hauppauge users on these boards as owners of other tuner cards.

Thanks, guess I'll pass on the Monitor/TV idea, then. Cornea is a Korean model, Samsung makes one, too. My only other question is if the USB unit will produce acceptable copies for viewing on my HP 568 PDA. I'm not looking for DVD-quality, just something that won't make me cross-eyed when viewing it. I'll research some more, I guess. Thanks again for your advice.
