watch Beyond on my Television with a 350 card

I cannot find out how to watch snapstream recordings or live tv through snapstream on my television. I couldn't find anything in Help regarding this.

I have a HP350 and with WinTV2000 loaded, there was an option I would select "line out" to be able to watch tv, but I don't see an option like that in snapstream. I have a line going out of my 350 into my tv and like I said, this works through WinTV2000.

When I do a search in the forums for "tv out" or tv out, I get nothing. What I'm finding through Google is that SnapStream doesn't support the tv out option

Any Ideas?
Eric

Re: watch livetv on my TV

yeah, ss doesn't support any hardware decoders (like the output of the 350). to get btv to the tv you need a video card with tv out. if you don't already have that most here seem to recommend an nvidia 5200 if that is all you want to do with the card (ie, not play games - for that there are many better cards that you can play games on and will support tv out as well).

so, if you have a video card with tv out you are set, if you don't mind spending $50 or so that will work, or you could use btv to record (the recording guide is much better with btv than wintv) and watch through the tvout of wintv/pvr350.

hope that helps,
archie

Re: watch livetv on my TV

Hey Thanks Archie,
OK, I'll try that. I thought of that before but was leary of introducing another application into the mix that talks to the 350. That sounds like my only option right now.

Thanks again!
Eric

Re: watch livetv on my TV

with my last suggestion, that sounds like the one you may attempt, i've not yet tried. i think that it will work. but before you depend on it for an important recording, you might want to schedule a test record with btv then watch something at the same time with wintv to make sure they play friendly.

like i said, i don't know if it will work, but i think i recall someone suggesting that to me back when i really wanted to get ss to support the hdwr decoding of that card. i still really want them to, but their priorities and mine (on this topic) are about 180degrees out of synch.

good luck, let me know if it works for you. heck, i might even give it a try soon myself.
