MCE 2005 software bundle retail

Windows Media Center Edition, until now, could only be had by purchasing a computer from an OEM with the software pre-installed.

hmm.... someones got their signals crossed I guess.

That is better news for SnapStream if they don't retail it anyway.

Re: MCE 2005 software bundle retail

Don't get me wrong. I LOVE snapstream!!! but I was at a buddies house that had Windows XP media edition (i'm not sure what version but he bought the system a year ago) and thought it was great. did pictures, games, weather, nice GUI and wish my snapstream could do that.

Re: MCE 2005 software bundle retail

Its not being sold retail, it is being sold whitebox OEM for a mere $140 (without hardware). Good luck with installing it. I had a MSDNAA version to fiddle around with and it was far from easy to get it up and running.

No code.... He was talking about how cool it was that his buddy could look at pictures and junk on his media center. So I told him to check out the Beyond Media Beta.
