I like Tmpgenc too but for removing commercials from TV shows and other light editing I don't think you can beat VideoReDo. One feature that I haven't seen in other editors is that it reads Beyond TV Smart Chapters so it makes removing commercials really quick and easy.

Interesting... It's about time Pegasys put something like that out as a separate product, but I personally use VideoRedo also, that's a great product.

Re: New Product - TMPGEnc MPEG Editor

If Smart Skip was 100% accurate, I'd be more excited about a product that supports it. Unfortunately, the amount of time it takes me to use VideoReDo, is almost comparable to the time it takes me to do it by hand

This TMPG one holds promise though ... Let us know how it turns out!

Re: New Product - TMPGEnc MPEG Editor

Ok, I downloaded the trial and tried it. I took a 30 minute Snapstream recording and cut the commercials out. It took about 1 minute 30 seconds to render the cuts and save the file. The cuts are PERFECT. I am sort of amazed.
The interface is really well done. It is really easy to use. It renders all the keyframes in the timeline and you can speed through it and then skip frame by frame using the arrow keys. If you right click on the timeline and hold it down it sort of fast forwards.
I am pretty sure I am going to buy it, The file cuts look good and it works with AC3 audio so that is nice.

You guys should really try it.

Weezul, I tried VideoReDo in the first couple betas. It didn't work that well and I didn't really care for it. Is it pretty stable and evolved now?

Re: New Product - TMPGEnc MPEG Editor

VideoReDo's pretty stable now, I haven't had it fail on me yet.

Re: New Product - TMPGEnc MPEG Editor

I checked it out ... Its no where near Womble MPGVCR, but it is $30 cheaper.

I'm sticking with what I got ...
