SnapStream Purchase & Comments

I recently purchased the SnapStream 2.0 Combo pack (PC/Pocket PC, and WinTV-GO card). I must say, awesome product!

That said, I do have a few comments:

1) I ordered the SnapStream product online thru DigiBuy. The ordering process was simple and quick. However, the e-mail confirmation purchase confirmation did not provide any contact information.

I replied to the snap support email address and have not heard a word!

After waiting 5 days for the package, I wanted to call someone to see what kind of shipping was made, etc. I did call the DigiBuy telephone number (as if I was making an Operator purchase) and left a voicemail for an Operator and provided my order# and the reason I was calling. I have not heard a word. That was 3 days ago and I have not heard anything. No biggie, although a response would have been nice.

2) After 6 days, I did receive my shipment. I received two CD-ROMs in a plain brown paperbox. Again, no biggie but it would have been nice to have the original boxes as displayed on the website. I like keeping my software organized and together, if possible.

One of the CD-ROMs was for the Hauppauge WinTV card and another for SnapStream.

The WinTV CD-ROM looked professional. However, the SnapStream CD-ROM looked like crap. The label was 95% black as if someone used a xerox machine and copied a real label to make mine. What's the deal here? Again, no biggie, but it looks very unprofessional! Aren't first impressions everything? Snapstream, if your reading this, I'd like a new CD-ROM!!! (order reference #RE6527511)

3)HTML discussion forums are fine for many users, but SnapStream should invest in a real SMTP newsgroup server. They're much easier to use and read. I seldom read these things because they're very kludgy and slow!

4)I'm not sure the web interface within SnapStream is necessary. I find it very easy to use, but difficult to manuever. Many times you have to remember to hit refresh, or re-click the link extra... Why isn't the main program similar to the PocketPC application?

5) I originally installed the SnapStream Lite demo while waiting for my order. I already had an Osprey-100 video card. Everything seemed to work flawlessly without problems. Once my registered shipment arrived, I uninstalled the Lite and re-installed the registered. I'm now having problems with PocketPC tab within HTML not displaying all the time.... or my iPAQ not displaying the downloaded content.

I can click the Pocket PVS link, get the logo, and it never brings up Explorer. I mostly have to go hunt for the file manually... what's up with this?

6) Since installing SnapStream registered on my Windows 2000/SP2 machine, I'm faced with blue screens almost daily. Most are PNP errors saying there is a faulty driver (usually when downloading video to iPAQ). I have ActiveSync 3.5.

Today I received my first NTFS STOP blue screen while recording a video and surfing the net...

I just re-installed SP2, so now we'll see what happens....

Again, this is an awesome product and would be would appreciate any feedback.

Hello,

I was checking the snapstream site discussion group and found your posting. I wanted to know if anyone contacted you yet? I've experienced some issues myself with the software and I'm currently waiting on a reply. (I'm running WindowsXP though.)

Thanks for your time.

Barry M.
