Please Help! BTV lost audio and I'm not home to reboot! What can I do?

This has happened once before, only I didn't notice it until I got home. Now it has happened AGAIN, only now I am trying to use Web Admin to watch my recordings and can't do it!

In the middle of the day today, my computer stopped recording one show, and began recording another. All of my recordings before this point have full sound, all of my recordings after this point have NO SOUND! All of the settings are obviously the same seeing as how I'm in another state and am not touching anything, so what is the deal?

Last time I couldn't fix the problem unless I rebooted the computer, which obviously isn't an option through Web Admin

I have an ATI AIW 9600...

I have tried every setting I can find in the Web Admin interface with no luck! Every recording I try to make (even streaming live TV) has no sound! I will not be home until Monday night and I was hoping to be able to keep up with my TV shows online, but I guess I can't now

Has anyone else had the problem of their recordings suddenly not having any audio? I know I probably can't fix it now (If you know a way please tell me!), so I guess the main issue is.......

How do I PREVENT this from ever happening AGAIN?

Note: For my settings I have the AIW connected through the Line-in for audio.

On the road myself. You're stuck until you get back probably and you'll need to trace the reason for audio loss using the logs.

If you travel often enough I would recommend PC Anywhere to allow you control/access of your computer.

Can't help you now, but in the future...

http://www.tightvnc.com/ (Free)

http://www.radmin.com/ ($35 per license)

I currently use remote admin because I did not know about vnc

I like the UltraVNC flavor of the various VNC stuff. You can encript your traffic and it also has FTP transfer. (free too).

Dont use the "Video Hook Driver" and it will work fine with BTV.

I use tightVNC and also experience audio loss from time to time.

Heh, my old thread has come to life!

I now use UltraVNC and RealVNC incase something goes wrong with my BTV while I'm away. Even though since I installed the PVR 250 card nothing has ever gone wrong
