How can I stream shows to my LIVING ROOM

I am planning on buying the snapstream software. Can I stream the programs to a device in my rooms with TV's?

The Media MVP can do that too, with a Wireless ethernet bridge (54 mBit).

Re: How can I stream shows to my LIVING ROOM

Great. Is there a link or a thread that discusses integration with the snapstream product? I need to set it up as a WIFI connection. I already have a Linksys WRT-54G access point. I was wondering what else I would need and how to set it up?

Just buy and Xbox and mod it. You will be happy as a clam.

Here is the software I am talking about.

Re: How can I stream shows to my LIVING ROOM

Holy cow thats a cool iterface - whats required to do that? Is there a tutorial (I'm pretty comfortable with networking, computers & electronics (including surface mount soldering) - just never done any XBox hacking).

Presumably, I need to mod the XBox (with which of the 800 chips out there), then install XBMC (which I can find no install instructions for).

Re: How can I stream shows to my LIVING ROOM

you need

1 - an xbox ~ $150
2 - a mod-chip (i recommend xecuter 2.3 lite plus, solderless) ~ $60
3 - xboxmediacenter software (free, just have to look in the right places)
4 - an ethernet connection to the xbox

if you get into games and storing video file locally, i recommend getting a bigger hard drive. obviously theres quite a few steps to get everything up and running, but these are the basic things your need

pm me if you need more info on this..

Has anyone tried this and what does the onscreen menu look like?

Just search the snapstream forums for mediamvp. You'll gonna find a lot of stuff. IMO the interface that comes with the device is definetly the weakest thing of the whole package. You'll also gonna find more then one solution to this issue.

Sweet - I opened up my xbox today (had to find a T20 Torx with a long enough handle), and its rpetty simple inside. Ordered the Xecutor 2.3b lite+ for $55, should be here thursday or so, so I think I'll get this figured out.
