Registry Hack to Improve Sharpness On Hauppauge PVR-250BTV

I see a lot of mentions of a registry hack that allows you to alter the sharpness of the PVR-250. I have the Hauppauge PVR-250BTV bought from the store on the main page of Snapstream when I navigate to the registry key for the hack it is not there. Does anyone know the equivilent hack for my card?

The 250btv does not use the same drivers as 250 so none of the hacks work. Also, while you still have the option to return this card, check to make sure you are not experiencing the following

choppy live tv
live tv not starting (get an error saying no input)
bad contrast or brightness
green line at bottom of screen.

THese are issues with the Snapstream drivers, and those are the only drivers available for that card. I went through a horrendous deal with them finding these faults then then another one returning my card (which took weeks to get them to respond) If you do not have these problems, post so that we and they know that those drivers do work on some systems. IF the drivers don't work on any systems, then Snapstream needs to pull that board combo until they fix the problems. I like this software, but am not happy with how this company is treating customers with this board.

The board works fine for me, no choppiness at all brightness and contrast are not good at the defaults but are fine once you follow the instructions in the BTV Kowledge Base.

What is your system setup? I suspect some of these problems are related to hardware

I have an ECS K7S5A board with XP1600 chip, 512 DDR RAM, 3 WD HD 300MB total, XP Prof, ATI AIW 7500.

Its a Soyo Dragon Ultra KT400 with a Athlon XP 2700+ and 1 gig of PC3200, Radeon All In Wonder VE for the graphics card and 2 WD 160 GB drives.

i can't seem to find info regarding this hack....can someone point me in the right direction?

i'm wondering if it can help with my brightness/contrast on the capture card...they're a little off for my liking.

You can adjust your contrast and brightness in your web admin under advanced/video sources choose edit source and set the capture quality settings to

Brightness 48
Contrast 20
Hue 55
Saturation 55

That should do the trick for ya

Well, you've got me blown away on power and memory. At least they're both AMD, I was concerned it only worked on intel. I figure it might be the ECS board, lower processor speed, or memory contributing. Has anyone else had the 250btv work or not work on their system and what are your systems?

The 250BTV works okay for me as well but like the others the brightness/contrast were not perfect using the defaults. I also do not use it to watch live TV.

All the errors are related to using live tv (although the no channel one may affect recording) If you try live tv, is it jumpy and do you occasionally get a no input error when starting LiveTV?
