MPx200 SmartPhone Quality Settings?

Has anyone messed with using ShowSqueeze to convert video to run on a SmartPhone? If so, any suggestions on the best quality settings to use?

I'm messing around with it right now (trial and error) but was wondering if anyone is doing this.

Thanks!

I am interested in an answer on this too. Where you able to figure out a good quality profile?

Re: MPx200 SmartPhone Quality Settings?

The resolution of that phone is 176x220 so the best resolution to use would probably be 160x120 (4:3) If you can turn the display sideways like a normal pocket pc(I don't know, I don't have the phone) then you could possibly do 220x160

As for the bitrate. When compressing for my pocket PC I tend to compress things to over 100k bitrate. That gives good quality and a decent file size. The audio bitrate is all in what you want out of it. I usually use 80k or 96k @ 44khz. Some people might find it high but I hate hearing the tin noise from low quality audio.

Start out with
Audio - 80kbps, 44 hHz, stereo(or mono if you aren't using headphones)
Video -
Windows Media Video 9
20 fps
160x120
100000 bps
quality scale 80
Take a minute long clip and use those settings. Then see how you like it and go from there. Depending on the phones processor power you might be able to use 2 pass encoding and do VBR.
