BTV Client Hardware
This is just a thought, perhaps directed at SnapStream. I saw a post about a networked DVD player, and of course we all know about the MediaMVP. How about a hardware client specifically designed for BTV? It would basically be a stripped down PC with little to no hard drive space, but an onboard MPEG2 decodeder and NIC, and probably a PCMCIA slot for a wireless networking card. Oh yeah, and a remote. Anybody know if this could be done for $150 or less? My guess is if so, a lot of people would want one. They could bundle the client software with it of course. This would leave us free to configure our servers as we prefer (1 tuner with an 80GB drive for some, 2+ tuners and several drives for others), but the client could be standardized so we're not all wasting our time trying to find the perfect HTPC case, decoder, etc.
