Re: Shipping to Canada
I have had hardware (Firefly) shipped to Canada using UPS.
I thought the cost of the UPS fee was way too much compared to other options.
I have also received hardware shipped from the US to Canada using other carriers and the most reasonable service was US Postal Service Global Express - It took the same time (if not a little faster) than UPS, the shipping charges were comparable (from what I can gather) BUT the brokerage fee was only $5 - WOW !
I did ask in another thread if SnapStream would consider using the USPS Global Express instead of UPS in the future and unfortunately never got a reply.
Interestingly, SnapStream has used that service to send me a StreamZap as a gift for writing a community article some time ago ...
I would have to seriously consider ordering hardware again if they continue to use UPS. Between the exchange, the shipping fee, duties and taxes, and the UPS $20-25 brokerage fee, the total ends up exceeding a retail purchase from a retailer here in Canada.
