a/v sync issues, pvr-250

I have had some slight a/v sync problems with full dvd resolution captures, mostly toward the end of an hour long or more capture. It hasn't been anything that VideoReDo can't rectify, but today I tried a half DVD resolution cap, and it's way off, worse at the beginning, but seemed to get better towards the end of the cap.
VideoReDo couldn't fix it.

I had "switched users", effectively logging the computer off, but keeping everything on my account still running. Could this be the problem?

Update: tried without logging off, still not right.

Also, all of my profiles are 5 p frames and 2 b frames. I've noticed some of the recommended profiles for the '250 have been 4 and 2 frames respectively. Is it possible that the card is having difficulty with that extra frame? I like 5 p frames, because I think the capture looks somewhat smoother and less grainy.

Update: I just capped another hour of half resolution, and sync is still totally wacked. Seems to be related to being half res, because full res DVD is fine.

Also, is there a driver other than the current release that is known to provide superior a/v sync?

Thank you in advance,

Cary F.

Re: a/v sync issues, pvr-250

I solved it, somehow. I cleared the '250 drivers, reinstalled, and then tried the previous build of BTV 3.4 (1217), but the half resolution problem remained.

Then I uninstalled several items that I was no longer using, such as my old TV card drivers and software, NVDVD, and K-Lite codec pack. Somewhere along the way, it started recording correctly...not sure which one did the trick.
