Frustrated AIW user

Hi everyone....

I have owned many TV tuner cards, have been messing with them since 1997.
I currently own 4 AIWs, 1 older Hauppauge, and one Zoltrix TV Max.

In my living room across the room I have a Gateway Destination 36", a Gateway Destination 31" and a compaq 21" monitor beside my lazy boy.... all 3 are hooked up to my 1400 AMD, asus, 512 ram, 60 gig hd..... I use an RF keyboard and a usb mouse on the table beside the lazyboy that the 21" sits on.....

Now, my problem....
ATI no longer supports multi-monitors with the TV.
So everytime I wanna use the tv I have to kill the other 2 monitors

There is one thing I LOVE about the AIW that I have not seen mentioned about the Hauppauge PVR.... video desktop.
I would miss it bigtime.....

My questions....

1. If I just buy the software and continue to use my AIW 128 AGP, will it support multi-monitors while the tv is running?

2. Would it have "video desktop"?

3. If I buy a Hauppauge 350, will it do multi-monitors and video desktop?

4. Will my current AIW let me use the SnapStream software to stream TV across my home network?

Note: I am not much concerned about the recording abilities, I run DTV with tivo already.... what I want is multi-monitors while TV runs....

Thanks for any help!!!

1) I’m not 100% sure on this one since I don’t own an AIW.

2) what is video desktop? Is that where you replace the desktop background with the tv signal? If so then no btv does not support this kind of feature.

3) not sure and see above.

4) Yes.

Basically what I would suggest you do is download the trial and see what you think (and how it responds to a multi-monitor setup).

Why not keep the AIW, split the cable connection and add a PVR-250? You can continue to use the AIW for video desktop (for those unaware, the live TV image because your "wallpaper") as well as for TV out and playback. The PVR-250/350 is a tuner only, so you still need a primary display card. And once Snapstream upgrades Beyond TV to support multiple tuners, you might be able to use both the PVR-250 and the AIW to schedule recordings. I say maybe because I don't know whether Beyond TV will support multiple tuners of different types. You can certainly spend the extra money on the PVR-350, but Beyond TV currently does not support the on-board hardware decoder of the 350.

I downloaded and installed, and got the above message.....
Not sure what to do to fix it....
It said I had 0 days left on my 21 day trial?
Is that my problem, or is that just that it has not started counting days yet?

I closed all ATI stuff running in my close program window bwfore starting BEYONDTV.....

Check around, BTV does NOT support the pvr-350s vid out.

They claim it under supported hardware, but fail to mention that they only support half the features of the 350.
