Best S-Video output
Hi -
I have read a number of the postings about this, but wanted to confirm. What video card would give me the best s-video output quality? (In terms of clarity, sharpness, and color). I have a 55" Mitsubishi projection that I bought 5 years ago that has s-video as its best input. When I watch DVD's through my Sony DVD player (not pc based) via S-video, I must say I am impress with the quality, so I don't think (in general) s-video itself is the limiting factor.
At the moment I have an AIW 9000 series card and am using it with S-video out. The quality is O.k., but text is a bit bleary when viewed. I am sure the size of my TV is amplyfing any distortion, so I want to make sure I get a card that has the best possbile s-video out.
Also, if possible, please state if overlay mode and timeshifting works properly with that video card. (I might be confused as to why Overlay doesn't work on the AIW, but I know it to be true because with overlay on, I can't timeshift, or hear audio out of my SPDIF, as well as go into power save mode - although the quality is much better. Is this a function of my AIW as a capture device, or as a display device? That is, if I went to a 250 and with a AIW as a display device, would any of this be a problem?)
Thanks again for your input(s)!
Brandon
