Over the last few weeks, I have been jotting down and attempting to get through some of these issues on the 3.4.4 release. Here are some of the issues I have experienced that I haven't been able to fix... I think I'm going to head back to 3.4.3 for now. I surely hope that 3.5 will be a better update. If any one has any ideas for fixes, I would appreciate the input.
1. BTV quits changing channels via the DCT2000 Serial Plug-in. Some times I can restart and it will begin working again. No logical pattern. Other times I have to go through the Web Admin and set it back to that tuner or run the setup utility. I'm going to see if the Girder plug-in works better. Another main issue is that it doesn't change the channel properly. If I go to channel 25, it will sometimes only go to channel 2. This is a real bummer when you are attempting to record and end up with an hour of CNN :-P Not that world events aren't important. I'd just rather watch and record happier television ;-) 2. ATI Remote Wonder volume problems. The remote wonder volume buttons sends 3's for Vol - and 9's for Vol +. I run the setup utility and it seems to fix it or if I restart it will sometimes correct itself. Again, it appears to make no logical sense. I'm hoping that by using Girder this will also clear up this issue. 3. I was having some "choppiness" issues with recording and live tv with the PVR-250. I think this was a separate issue all together. I reloaded the drivers and reset my registry hacks and it works just fine again. 4. Program Guide updates. I've seen that many other people are having issues with this. It appears to update when I do it manually, but automatic updates are simply not working. I'm receiving no errors in my logs. The updates are simply not happening. I'm totally lost on this since I have no errors in the log. <thought> A quick whine and whimper about loosing the DIVX compression.</thought> If anyone has any ideas, that would be great. Personally I can work around most of these issues, but my wife on the other hand gets a bit cranky about this project some times... If I can keep her happy for a few minutes with this project, my life is dramatically easier!
