Re: Downgrading for stability

Ever since updating to 3.4.4, it's been hanging on every couple of shows that it's recording. For example, it's been recording an episode of Bewitched for something like 15 hours now. When other shows attempt to start recording, it can't, because it still shows a previous recording thread running. I know this is a known issue (since I myself whined about it during the betas), but I was just wondering if anyone has a workaround. If not, does anyone know how gracefully you can downgrade snapstream? And if it's smooth, does anyone know what the most current STABLE version is? (also one that supports the USB-UIRT).
Thanks

That's interesting. I upgraded as well the day 3.4.4 was available. It all has been rather transparent for me. No problems. However I did go back through all my settings (including the video card parameters) and checked them. I'm comparing this HTPC I've built compare to the three ReplayTVs (like a TIVO) I own. Really very little problems and no stabiltiy problems with any of the BTV up-dates.
I believe this coming June or July it will be one year this "box" has been running .. continuous non-stop (except for upgrades). Heck, I don't even defrag the drive.
Do you have a hardware type encoder or are you using something like the ATI All In Wonder capture cards? FWIW, I believe a lot of the instability thing might be the systems using software capturing. Just my 2 cents.
