quick question - ide channel

setup:

1 - 160GB Hard Drive (2 partitions)

1 - DVD-+RW

should i put both on the same ide channel (slave and master)

or put one on 1 channel and one on the other?

If those are the only 2 drives you have, then put one on Primary and one on Secondary. If you have another CD drive, then make the DVD+-RW the Secondary master and the other CD the primary slave. That way if you're burning DVDs from the HD or copying from the CD to the DVD, you get the best performance.
