HDTV Integration. A Theory

I have a plan to integrate HDTV recording into SnapStream. It will probably require Beyond Media, but I wanted to run it by ya'all and get some ideas.

I have a PCHDTV card. As you may or may not know, this particular HDTV card is a LINUX only card.

My idea is to build a Linux/MythTV box whose sole function is to record HD Shows. These recordings would be made available to Snapstream either directly or via Beyond Media from a Home LAN.

I am adding VOOM to my HTPC repetoire which does include OTA HD capabilities.

One assumption I am operating under is that while recording HD Signals is quite a bit different then recording digital or analog signals, the actual recordings themselves are the same kind of output and therefore, could be played by the existing Snapstream setup.

Comments??

Sounds logical to me, I would think once you have an mpeg or whatever you should be able to throw it up with btv without any problem.

So, I need to determine what a Linux/MythTV/PCHDTV setup would output.

By the by, I just had VOOM installed today. A very sweet setup! Can't wait to set up my SnapStream machine again.

How are you recording from your VOOM STB to your PCHDTV card (or are you)?
