Question Dish Network Channel Changes

I recorded something on TLC today and got a message on Dish Network's banner about TLC being moved to channel 183 on April 12. My question is will Snapstream automatically update the channel changes or will I have to do something manually to ensure that I will not miss any recordings?

Thank you,
Marc Peters

It should by it typically takes up to a week for the change to be realized, you can do manual recordings through the webgui for that brief period of time.

Re: Dish Network Channel Changes

I'm still having this problem.

TLC shows up as ch 178 in the EPG, but
it now resides on ch 183 on Dish Network.

I've filed a help desk ticket with SnapStream,
but I haven't gotten any feedback.

Re: Dish Network Channel Changes

DigitalDean,
We looked up your user information and found your lineup. According to our system the lineup is already correct. In 99.9% of the cases this lineup change should have made it down to your system. I am not sure why it didn't. My first suggestion is to try to update the guide lineup manually. From the fullscreen interface goto settings then snapstream.net and select update guide lineup option. If after doing this fails to work then please rerun the setup wizard (its in the programs folder) when it ask if your lineup is correct try to change it and select the same lineup again and it should work from there.

Please keep me posted to the status, as I am curious why it did not automatically fix itself in the first place.

Thanks,
-Brett

Re: Dish Network Channel Changes

It hasn't updated on mine either. I have tried forcing the download of Channel lineup (using version 3.3) and it never gets the change.

Re: Dish Network Channel Changes

Ok...according to my database for both users it should be correct. Please log onto http://www.snapstream.net/ if the listing is correct in there then the problem is on our side, if the listing is incorrect there then we need to yell at Tribune.

If after rerunning the setup wizard you still are having the problem please contact me officially at http://www.snapstream.com/support so that I can make sure it does not get overlooked anymore.

Smile Re: Dish Network Channel Changes

I tried updating the channel lineup via full screen, windowed,
and web admin. Each one failed to pickup the channel change.
Looking a the snapstream.net channel lineup via the web interface
showed the old (incorrect) channel assignment for TLC

Next, I reran the setup wizard. As part of the channel lineup selection,
you can preview the hannels. This was the first time I saw
the updated channel lineup.

After running the setup wizard (and subsequent guide update),
I see TLC on channel 183.

Re: Dish Network Channel Changes

Sorry for the long delay, but we have been using SageTV the last couple weeks (completly unrelated to this channel problem). A complete uninstall was done and yesterday I did a reinstall. And TLC is still listed as 178. The version I installed is the 3.5 beta though, so can try uninstalling that and reinstalling a different version if you like. Let me know what you want me to try.

Thanks,
Marc
