If you own a multimedia card from ATI or Nvidia or just bought a Media Center PC, don't bother with Beyond TV 3.0--the software that comes with those products is every bit as competent.
The MCE argument may hold some water, but comparing BTV to the bundled software included with an ATi or Nvidia???

CNET has had a hard time telling the difference between their ass and a hole in the ground for quite some time now. I agree, the ATI/nVidia remark is laughable. Let's see, my new 5950 came with Aquanox 2 and Rainbow Six 3. Yeah, I can see where BTV wouldn't compare. My older 440MX "Personal Cinema" came with a bunch of junk.

And ATI's software, don't even get me started.

CNET looks at computers as desktop devices and for desktop users, those (well at least ATI's anyway) applications are fine. Otherwise... I dont get where there even IS a comparison.

Submitted that post a little too quick...

How is it that DVD, photo, and music support are lacking? That's sort of like complaining that Internet Explorer doesn't have built in Disk Defragmenting or something. I bought BTV for what it is, and it should be reviewed for what it is. Now if this were a "Beyond Media" review things would be different.

Since when has Snapstream been bundling BTV with Adaptec's DVD Media Center USB2? I bought mine a month ago and didn't see it in the box...
