My understanding is 3.x to any later 3.x update will be free. When they go to 4.x then you will probably have to put out some dough.

Thats fair
As long as they don't do what Tweak XP did, went from 2.12 or so to 3 I bought less than a month before that, they said too bad.
Never give them another dime thats for sure!

That always sucks when that happens. Many companies these days are prorating upgrades. Example free update if under 30 days. 50% of normal upgrade from 31-60 days. 75% of normal upgrade for 61-90 days and 100% of upgrade over 90 days.

I bought Nero 5.5 and they came out with Nero 6 about 3.5 months later. They said as long as you bought it before March 1 you would get a free upgrade and I bought it on March 11 or something like that.
