Running Beyond TV as a service under WinXP?

So, occasionally, I reboot my computer remotely. I want to make sure that Beyond TV loads as a service under windows, so that if a user hasn't logged in, I won't miss any recordings. Most programs that are important like this, ask if you want it to load as a windows service (VNC, etc), but not Beyond TV. How do I get it loaded as a service? Probably windows has a way to make certain executables run as a service. Also, what command line can I add to the BTV executable that will just load the core program, not open the interface window?

Thanks,

-Jeff

There's a couple things you could do. The first is actually do what you are asking - run it as a service. There's a good instructional page at:

Alternately, if you are the only user on the pc you could just set the app to start when you enter the default user and make it so your computer automatically boots into that account.

Not sure about command line settings, but if you goto Configure>Advanced Settings>Miscellaneous settings in the WEB Admin you can set how BTV starts.

Since my system is dedicated I use TweakUI to set XP to always log into the default account. I do exactly as you are describing, except BTV is not running as a service. I can boot remotely and it will log into the account and start running.

Excellent! I figured it could probably be done, and these are the suggestions I needed. I will give Jim's link a shot. Thanks!
