another question regarding TV out

I have a tv tuner/software capture card as my primary display(Visiontek nvidia based xtasy everything). It works great with my old 21" CRT monitor but TV out looks horrible, with jerky movements(not smoothe) with video that looks fine on the monitor, even ripped DVD get this treatment, though they look fine on the monitor. Is this because of my olf gefroce2 MX/400 video card's video out? I see people recommend using the tv out of the FX5200, just wondering if it's worth getting a PCI version soley for TV out....
Any ideas? I don't want to lose my Nvidia personal cinema card because I'm waiting for dual tuner support to hit with 3.5(other card is the PVR-250)
One more question, is there a big difference between running BTV with Win2K or WinXP?
Thanks

Two possibilities come to mind ....

First of all the TV needs an interlaced output whereas the monitor wants it deinterlaced. (Search these forums with the word interlace and your video card for more info).

Second, what version of BTV are you running, there have been some recent upgrades (to 3.4.3 now) that help with jerkyness.

In http://localhost:8129/settings.cgi?mode=interface

Make sure "Use True Full Screen" is enabled & set to 800x600 or below.

Note that this should only be viewed as a workaround and not a solution.
