Offline showsqueeze
Has anyone tried to perform showsqueeze using another machine that is not your main recording machine?
I have a dedicated box for the living room for capturing and displaying BTV. However, this box is only an Athlon 2100+, which is not very good at "smartchapting" and "showsqueezing". I have an Athlon64 3400+ as my desktop. What I was thinking is running BTV on this box, and mount the video drive from my dedicated box. I would then batch showsqueeze and smartskip all the videos. I am guessing the Athlon64 box would do a better job. One good thing I have noticed is that on my dedicated box, I can showsqueeze, smartskip, record a video, and watch a recording video at the same time, without any problems. No studdering, no skipping, no delays even when the CPU is always pegged at 100%. BTV 3.4.2 rocks! - J
