I don't know if it's still a problem, but with software encoding many people were complaining about this, me as well. Since I went to the PVR250 all those problems went away. So if your getting a PVR maybe you should just wait for that.

Ok Hopefully that will take care of it.

In the meantime is there a way around it with the AIW?

How about DEL *.*

That will rid you of those nasty out of sync files

I can't rembember how, but I belive someone, maybe Weezul, posted a way to compensate for the audio lag. Perhaps a search through the forums might find something. It may have been posted in the Beta forum, if so searching might be a problem.

Thanks

I did a search with sync, syncronization, sound out of sync etc. No luck. If anyone knows how to get it done with the sound correct I would appreciate it.

Thanks

Here is something RobertH suggested in another thread. This thread may have some useful info for you.

Quote:
he cant be using vbr because he doesnt have a hardware encoder, wich is likely the cause, there are "problems" with the snapstream mpeg encoder for doing software encoding. while you wont notice the sync errors in snapstream you will notice them in other applications wich strictly adhear to the mpeg spec. more than likely the original video files have dropped frames or incomplete GOP structures and tmpgenc is rebuilding them from scratch causing the frame/audio sync to be lost. the only thing i could recommend in that case is to transcode the video into divx at a really high bitrate (so no compression artifacts) and then import it into tmpgenc and have it spit out a genuine mpeg file. most people that have the audio sync errors are those not using hardware encoders.
