ok, what did i do...

ok, so i've been setting up my HTPC over the past week or so. I'm running everything in multi-monitor mode where i clone the video output to my TV and to my computer monitor. Everything has been working ok (for the most part). Now, tonight, i turn on snapstream and i have the strangest problem. On the TV output, I receive the TV signal fine and everything responds as expected. However, i'm not seeing any menu/informational output on the TV output. For instance, if i want to bring up the tv guide while watching tv, i see it overlay the tv signal on my computer monitor, but nothing on the TV itself. Everything behaves like it should on my computer monitor. On the TV, i get the TV signal fine, but no menus, info or anything else. also, when playing in Windowed Mode, i still get a full screen pic on the TV. When outside of Snapstream, everything appears as it should.

I'm assuming i must have inadvertently did something within Snapstream, but I'm going through the various settings and don't see anything relating to this. Anyone know how to fix this? I was just playing around with WinDVD4, and i have that setup to output fullscreen to the TV, where just the DVD video gets sent to the TV and the WinDVD menus and stuff do not appear on the TV. I've had it setup like that all along, though, without issue. Maybe i did something in WinDVD just now to make that setting universal somehow? i don't know how that would be possible, but who knows.

anyways, any help anyone could provide would be much appreciated!

make sure it is in clone mode and that on ati's you have theatre overlay turned off and on nvidia's you have full screen video disabled.

thank you thank you thank you!!

that was it. I have an nVidia geforce fx 5700 card. I must have turned on full screen video at some point last night. although, i don't recall doing so. But, i turned it off, and voila, it's all working again.

i've been doing so much setting up and tweaking over the last week that it's hard to remember what i did and didn't do. never a good thing!!!

anyways, thanks and lesson learned!
