BTV vs Win2000 pic quality
Hey first time poster here and new to the PVR game. I have been kicking around the idea of doing a DVR for some time and saw the sale at CompUSA on the PVR250. Needless to say I went and picked one up. Installed the card and latest drivers from the web. Tried the Win2000 program that came with the card. Picture quality was desent after messing around with it a little. I decided to download the trial version of BTV to check it out. I love the interface and the guide but my picture is very soft and fuzzy. I have tried changing the quality settings ect but dont get much better picture. Is there anything you have to do to make sure BTV is recongnizing your PVR250 card. I also only have analog cable (wanting to get dish or digi cable soon). Anyway, I just done understand why the cheap win2000 software has a better pic than BTV. Any ideas??

check the btv logs after starting up livetv and make sure that the pvr is accepting the settings beyondtv is sending to it.
you should also switch the default decoder to either the intervideo one or another one on your system: http://www.snapstream.com/Community/Articles/decoders |
