Does the Intervideo Decoder patch have anything to do with interlacing?

I'm talking about the registry changes for Divx and Hwmc from 0 to 1. I'm assuming they don't, but I seem to remember some postings that indicated it did. I assume it just changes the decoder from software to hardware, but would like to be sure. Looking at the different rusults on a front projection TV, the changes seem to improve the picture, particularly in fast moving scenes. Since I'm watching on a non HDTV device, I don't want a non interlaced output.

Those setting also enable hardware deinterlacing so it should look better during fast moving scenes.

Anyone have the problem of selecting hardware deinterlacing and getting no video at all. I have the pvr-250 and did the registery hack and cant get the hardware deinterlacing to work.

interlaced output to a TV with *any* codec is seriously broken with BTV, including their own default one, and hopefully someone from Snapstream will sooner or later pipe up and acknowledge that they're aware of it and are working to correct it. If you want to try it anyways, with the Intervideo codec you have to make a new DWORD registry entry named "BOBWEAVE" and give it a value of 2. Until BTV's fixed though, you aren't going to like what you see.

I believe those setting only affect hardware acceleration and DivX but don't do anything for MPEG video as far as interlaced/de-interlace is concerned. You need to set the BOBWEAVE setting as _Shorty has said.

Setting BOBWEAVE only instructs the decoder to use Weave deinterlacing (no deinterlacing). If you omit the BOBWEAVE the decoder will use whatever type of deinterlacing your video card does by default. For ATI it uses Adaptive.

The BOBWEAVE setting can be used to select AUTO, BOB, WEAVE or no De-Interlacing.
