Scheduling contention with Record New

This is an ongoing pet-peeve with me, and I wonder if it's easy to resolve or if perhaps I'm missing something.

I'm a fan of Monster Garage on Discovery Channel, but I've seen all of the old eps, so I want to do Record New instead of Record All. But the new ones first air in the same time slot as another program I like to watch. Monster Garage will re-air about a day later, but the other show doesn't for some time (months perhaps). It would be great if I could set both programs to "Record New", and SnapStream figures out that it can't record Monster Garage *but* the same ep will re-air in a day, so record it then. Instead, it treats the re-air as a rerun and ignores it.

All of the required data is there in the program guide - if I go to snapstream.net and get details on a new ep of Monster Garage, it will show me the future air-dates - the first one usually being 5 hours away. SnapStream just needs to be a bit smarter with what it does with this data.

Or perhaps I do, and there's another way around this... ??? (besides setting up manual recordings, which takes away from the whole reason of having a PVR)
