Show Squeeze Quality Lacking
I am intending to record shows/movies and then use showsqueeze to get them to a smaller size to allow me to burn them to a DVD. I have tried many of the settings within show squeeze for the quality but it always comes up lacking. I have tried both DIVX and WMA and used both my standard default quality (Better) as well as a few others. Does anyone have any recommendations based on what they are doing as to what the best formating is? I understand I will lose some quality and that is okay, but so far it has been obvious and far less and a Video Tape. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

if you're burning to dvd, why would you not keep it in mpeg2? I mean, if you're making a dvd that plays back in a regular dvd player all you're doing is transcoding it twice, losing an insane amount of quality. You're best off just recording it at the quality you want in the first place and just leaving it alone. Edit out the commercials with any number of mpeg2 editing programs, mpeg-vcr for instance.
