Lower bitrate for Live TV?

I have a remote SnapStream server which I use to record scheduled programs.

Can I configure it to automatically use a lower bitrate when it is not recording so that I can watch live streaming TV at a low bitrate?

I believe Live Tv will always use the default bitrate. So you will have to set the default to your "live tv" bitrate and when you make a recording you will have to change the settings to whatever recording settings that you want.

If it is a recurring recording (example: Record all etc.) you can change the settings to always record at the higher bitrate in the FSUI settings.

If you are using WMV as your default recording format, then the streaming format will be the same as your default recording format.
If you are using MPG (non-hardware) as your default recording format, then you can configure the WMV streaming format to a seperate quality type.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, but I don't think either method will work with me.

I'm using WMV, and I schedule recordings through Snapstream.net which AFAIK does not allow changing the quality.
