Video Card Upgrade?

I currenlty have an 2.2GHz Intel Celeron PC with a built-in video card.

I plan on buying a Hauppauge PVR-250 for use with Snapstream.

I have read that I need a good video card to capture TV.

Do I need to upgrade my video card even if I get the Hauppauge PVR?

Thanks.

The PVR-250 captures data.

You still need a video card to output it. What you need depends on your intended usage.

Will you be driving a TV or viewing on your computer? See http://www.snapstream.com/Products/P...VS3_SysReq.asp and browse these forums for lots of output device discussions.

Tom,

Thanks for the response.

Primarily, I will only be viewing them on the PC and burning them on a DVD.

Do I need a high-end video card for this? Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks.

If you have an older videocard that does not completely support DirectX9 and the menues are sluggish then an upgrade would certainly improve that experience.

However, a new videocard will not improve the quality of the actual video thats entirely based on the tuner.

This appears to be where you are confused you need a good tv tuner card to capture TV, not a good video card.
