Enocde Decode card?
I have an ATI All in Wonder 128 and BTV 3
I cannot put it on anything above good quality in order to watch it. Since I have a good capture card are there any suggestions on a good decode encode card. I tried the real magic hollywood and it stomps on the ATI's drivers. So I just want to try a different card for better performance of BTV 3 |

I agree the capture card is not the greatest - 3 years ago it was pretty good. Problem is I was hoping to get out kinda cheap. I just added an 80 gig hard drive a DVD burner and BTV. The wife wont let me have any money for my PC for a while now. I guess I will just have to wait.

I should've said for this particular application it's rather mediocre. For doing raw captures it is still a good card, it's just that this PVR usage is better served by the Hauppauge card since it is purpose-built to do that kind of thing. Handling the video encoding on the card itself makes the PVR experience much, much better, using up as little CPU time as possible and giving you a much better picture than a real-time software encoder can.
