Poor divx audio quality
The addition of divx encoding is great, however the audio encoding quality is really poor.
I hear you use the Lame codec, which is a great codec. With the distortion I'm hearing at "High Definition" divx though, something seems worng (it says the stream is at 128kbit, but I find that hard to believe having very pickily played with lame and its bitrates over the years) That of course can all be kind of explained by re-encoding from an iffy quality mpeg2 which results from the tv recording, however.... There really should be an option to specify options for the MP3 audio encoding in the divx quality settings. No question about it, it really should be there - part of the wonder of divx encoding is being able to configure it just how you like it. This or that visual optimization, high quality audio, low quality video or visa-versa, etc. That is my big numero-uno feature request for the next release version. And thanks again for an excelent product. Thanks, dev* |
