How do you tell what quality setting a show was recorded on?

I have been trying different quality settings but now that I have recorded a bunch of shows at different qualities how do I tell what quality setting they were recorded on?

I have tried from Web Admin and from "Recorded Shows" with BTV and neither do more than tell me the show is MPEG-2.

I guess the brute force way is to look at file size, but doesn't BTV have this info somewhere?

You should be able to right click on a file in explorer and go to properties and it will tell you. Or open the file in Windows Media player and click on File->Properties and it will tell you.

The Explorer and WMP Properties only appears to work for wmv files, not for mpg or avi(divx) files. Could that be a setup on my PC?

In addition, when I go to play MPEG files in WMP it tries to download a CODEC, gives me an error saying it could not find the codec, but then it plays the file ok.

When I try to play the avi(divx) files it only plays the audio, not the video. Doesn't BTV install the divx codecs that would allow WMP to play divx files?

I've always had the codecs for both installed on my system before installing Snapstream. The codecs should get installed. You might want to uninstall and try re-installing.
