120GB 7200 rpm disks for $60

http://www.compusa.com/products/prod...id=dsr&ref=dsr

seagate barracuda's.. ok so not the largest capacity these days but still nice price after rebates imho.

The seagate disks are also the quietest according to the forums.

Excellent, thanks for the heads-up! I have one of these already as my primary system and SS recording drive, and was thinking about getting another, I'm quite happy with it. Definitely ordering one now! Yes, these drives are very quiet, and run cool; I had problems with other (Maxtor) drives getting a bit warm, and dying because of that (I think).

Exclamation

Dang that's a good price.

WARNING though:

No CompUSA where I live and I was going to order one.
The rebate states:

Quote:
Rebate available only for purchases of qualifying Seagate drive made between 12/21/03 and 12/24/03. Valid on 12/20/03 in Utah only. Items must be purchased through: CompUSA or compusa.com. Rebate request must be postmarked by 1/24/04. Qualifying purchase must be made during rebate period.
So run down the store and fill-in the rebate IMMEDIATELY and post it, otherwise you'll never see the $50 rebate.

Eric

Plus you can get the rebate form online, no need to ever go to the store.

Thanks again;

Still spent from the flu and misread the limit date from 1/24 to 12/24...
Good thing I'm not even attempting to do any real hard work today.

I ordered the HD, they charged me $7 for taxes (?) so once I get the rebate back the actual cost will be around $72.
Killer price.
Thanks again for telling us.

Now to find enough room in my case for a 4th HD!

That's my X-mas sorted.... And today got a 256 USB drive from work!
Cheers;
Eric

But don't buy one unless you need it now. Ever notice how prices continue to fall so fast in computer hardware that even todays fantastic bargin sounds very expensive in just a few months.

Wow what a deal I got on the first hard disk that I ever purchased, it was just under $700 for 20 megabytes (yes MEGabytes). First time I have ever seen such a big disk for under $1000
