Switching Sources

Hey all,

I'm trying out SnapStream for my second time. I would love to purchase this product, but I see that there is currently no way to switch from TV to S-Video or Composite from the Live TV screen. This is a huge issue for me and is preventing me from purchasing the product. Everything else is awesome!

My question is, why was this feature left out? Every other PVR package that I have evaluated has this ability. I purchased ShowShifter for that very reason,

What is the ETA for these features, do they exist in Beta form, and if so, how does a former quality assurance tester and PVR enthusiast signup?

The reason that they were left out is that this product is designed mostly for TV recording/viewing. The product can do other stuff and it is semi-documented but not yet perfected. The feature that you are asking for is, I believe, in the works for the next release of Beyond TV (3.5). There is a beta program however you have to own a registered copy of Beyond TV to register for it.

Ahhh.. well then it looks like a catch 22. No feature.. no purchase.. no beta.. Story of my life.

I still don't see whay such a feature wouldn't be implemented from the start, however. Is SnapStream geared toward low end users?

Glad to see the development path is geared towards .NET. I am a C# .NET developer myself. They should be able to get upgrades out much quicker with managed code I would suspect.

Exactly the reasoning behind moving some of the app to managed code--relatively simple feature implementations can be done quickly, with the dev worrying mostly on feature implementation and not the drudgery of simple mistakes like those that come up with memory management for example.
