Watch burned content on a standard DVD player?
Anyone care to share their experiences regarding taking a DVD burned on their PC and playing it on some of the newer DVD players on the market?
I have tons of content captured by PVS. I haven't done much burning to my DVD+R drive yet, but would like to do so--primarily to watch on the TV in my entertainment center. (I'm not yet ready to make the jump to directing output from my video card to my TV.) Since much of this would be "watch once, then delete", DVD+RW would be best--so as to be able to re-use the media. I realize I'd still need to convert from MPEG to VOBs, etc. before burning to disc. I have an old (first-gen?) Panasonic DVD player. It works well, but cannot play DVD+R, DVD-R, DVD-RAM media, nor CDs containing MP3, JPG, WMA, etc. Some of the newer players seem to play just about everything--but contain a disclaimer stating that 'the ability to playback depends on recording conditions'. In particular, I'm considering the Samsung DVD-P231, which purports to play CD-RW, DVD+R, and DVD+RW--but with the disclaimer mentioned above. How likely am I to be able to view DVD+RW content on such a player?
