Does Snapstream support PVR-350?

I am planning to buy this card, does Snapstream support it?

They support the 350 for decoding (recording). You will still need a video card with TV-out to display on your TV. Encoding support is on the list, but not very soon I do not think.
Therefore the 250 right now is all you need (Unless you are buying it for the future. The 250 is the same as the 350, without the encoding.

I'm not understanding something about the PVR thing..

I thought the PVR250 and 350 both had video out to my TV and that a video board in the computer was only needed for display on the computer's monitor.

Additionally, after a TV show has been recorded and is on my hard drive, do I have to go back to the computer to recall this recorded show?

Or can one just do this from your easy chair, using Snapstream on my TV and call-up a previously recorded program?

If playback to my TV is from the PVR250, why would it matter how good the PC video card is if it already does a fine job with the existing PC monitor.

I appreciate the time for an explanation or a pointer to somewhere that explains this very well.

The PVR250 does not have a TV output. The 350 does, but it is unsupported (does not work) with SnapStream PVS. You have to hook up your cable to the PVR250/350 for video input. Then hook up your TV to the output (probably s-video) of the video card.

Since the 350's TV output is unsupported, its no better than a 250 to use with SS at this time.

Hope this clears things up a little.

And yes you can control SS with a remote, from your couch. I do!

The PVR-250 does not have TV-OUT - only in. The 350 does have TV-OUT, but Snapstream does not currently support the TV-OUT features of the 350.

With either, you need a separate video card (such as an ATI AIW or TV-Wonder, or a GForce card with TV-OUT) for Snapstream to output to your TV.

Once you've got your TV-OUT working, you can call up a recorded program from within Snapstream to watch it (no need to go outside of the Snapstream interface to 'find' it on your hard drive).

Playback on your TV is not from the PVR-250, it will always play through your video card that has TV-OUT.

Many people here will recommend the Gforce TV-OUT cards. I can also recommend an ATI All-In-Wonder (or TV-Wonder) for TV-OUT.

Video Board with Composite Out ???

I have a digital TV that DOES NOT have a DVI input, but does have S-Vid and Composite inputs.

Is there a video board that offers composite out for a TV?

I think the quality is better with composite than S-Video.

I think you mean component (PrPbY) and the only one I have seen that does that are the ati radeon cards with the HDTV adapter (check their site for infos)

I use an external scan converter for my TV-Out. It hooks up to the VGA ( Monitor ) port on your computer and converts it to Composite, S-Video, and Component Video. I use one called the Ultimate XP Pro by GrandTec USA. Technically, it is capable of outputting 1600x1200 to a TV, but this is rediculously un-useful. I simply have it output 800x600 or 1024x768, and use the True Full Screen setting in SnapStream. I prefer the quality of an external box, and prefer it because I can use simple onboard video on my motherboard, requiring one less source of heat in my box, and fewer fans = less noise.
