Channel up/down keys

In fullscreen mode, if I use the channel up/down keys (up/down arrows) first problem is I don't see any indication of what channel is currently showing or what channel I'm going to.

The grey band in the middle of the picture which shows the channel if I type the channel number is empty.

Second problem is it seems that fairly often when I change channels back and forth fairly quickly, the picture freezes and I can't watch TV again until I exit fullscreen mode then back into live viewing.

Is this a known problem?

switching too fast can cause the mpeg encoder in hardware devices and the software one to become disconnected from the graph thus causing it to stall the video until the graph is restarted

the onscreen display will not show channel numbers for wich the guide says "Unavailable" it is more than likely a problem with the DB if you arent seeing channels in the gui

Could well be a database issue with the channels not showing - where can I find details of the correct databse contents so I know what to check for?

As for the other problem, this is rather nasty. Will it be fixed?

Dunno on either account, the DB is password protected to prevent poking around in it (while I do know the password I cant give it out) and the poking I have done I still dont quite know what is supposed to be in there you might want to check the logs or use debugview and see if there are any db warnings, does this problem occur with all channels or just on some? if it is just some of them does it occur on ones listed in the program guide as unavailable?

As far as answering the second question I dont actually work for SS so I only know as much as they tellme/the other beta testers but it seems like it wont get fixed because I experience the same problem when channel surfing in the wintv app with my pvr so it seems to just be a problem with either the direct show system or with mpeg itself

The odd thing is that even if I use a clean database, the station names are still displayed when I select a channel. So it is obviously not using the database for this. Yep, I just cheked.. it uses the lineupcollectionxml.

you also might want to get in contact with mr phil or who ever is currently supporting/developing xmltv importer app my guess is that the modifications of the xml parser have damaged the input and generation of the database
